Zhongtuo 5 is a new mid-ripening peach variety developed by the Zhengzhou Fruit Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 1989 through hybridization using Chaohui as the maternal parent and Shuangfu as the paternal parent.
The fruit skin has a light white base color. After ripening, the entire fruit surface is covered with a bright red color. The average weight of a single fruit is 195 to 246 grams, with an average weight of 263 grams for large fruits. The weight of large fruits exceeds 500 grams.
