The Dahongpao Plum is a premium large-fruited plum variety from Liaoning, China – a National Agricultural Product Geographical Indication that has earned the title of "King of Plums". Selected by local growers in 1993 and officially recognized in 2020, this variety is prized for its striking red appearance, exceptional size, and delicious sweet-tangy flavor.

Appearance:
The fruit is elliptical to oval, with 80% bright red skin that gives the variety its name – "Big Red Robe." A natural white powdery bloom and fine dots cover the surface, signaling freshness. The flesh is orange-yellow, thick, and juicy. The fruit is so large that it is often described as "looking like a peach" rather than a plum.

Flavor:
Sweet with a pleasant tang from the thin skin, the fruit offers a soluble solids content of 18% Brix when fully ripe. The small pit separates easily from the flesh (freestone), providing a high edible rate of over 90%.

Size:
Average fruit weight is 180g, with premium specimens reaching 200–250g.

Growing Advantages:
Self-pollinating and highly productive, with yields of 2,000 kg per mu. The variety shows strong adaptability, cold and drought resistance, and good disease resistance.
