The defining feature of Dawuyuan is its extraordinarily large fruit. Average single-fruit weight ranges from 17.8 to 18.3 grams, with the largest specimens reaching 31 grams – only 44 to 52 fruits per kilogram – making it the largest longan variety in China. The fruit diameter consistently exceeds 25mm, with premium-grade fruit reaching 27–29mm. Appearance:
The fruit is oblate-round with a slightly raised or uneven shoulder and a distinctly depressed stem end. The skin is yellow-brown and relatively smooth.
